Paper Cut

A March Break Puppet Show in Mississauga

Internationally acclaimed puppeteer Yael Rasooly transforms an ordinary desk into the stage for a secretary’s extraordinary imagination.

Using paper cut-outs, object theatre, and her signature dark humor, Rasooly unravels a Hollywood-inspired fantasy that slips into a suspenseful Hitchcock-style thriller, echoing the glamour and tension of 1940s film noir.

Through impeccable timing, improvisation, and bold visual storytelling, Rasooly demonstrates how simple materials can become powerful theatrical tools. What begins as playful romance quickly collides with reality, creating a surreal, witty, and emotionally charged performance that has toured to major festivals worldwide.

Audiences are invited into a world where love, danger, and imagination collide—proof of Rasooly’s mastery in transforming everyday objects into unforgettable characters.

Paper Cut at Puppet Festival Mississauga is more than a puppet show; it’s a cinematic fever dream brought to life on stage, guaranteed to spark wonder long after the lights fade.
