A History of Water in the Middle East
Sabrina Mahfouz’s A History of Water in the Middle East is a lyrical and thought-provoking exploration of colonialism, geopolitics, and environmental issues. Combining poetry, music, and storytelling, the play examines the historical and ongoing exploitation of water resources in the Middle East and its impact on the region’s people. Through a personal lens, Mahfouz connects her own heritage to the broader struggles over water as a source of life and power. This innovative and moving work invites audiences to reflect on environmental justice and the legacy of imperialism.
