About Maja Prentice Theatre

Maja Prentice Theatre is a 198 seat theatre located at the corner of Dixie and Burnamthorpe Road, Mississauga, Ontario Canada. The venue is owned by the City of Mississauga, and managed by a not-for profit professional theatre company, Crane Creations Theatre Company. Maja Prentice is home to live theatre shows, musicals, dance, community events, and more, all year round.

FAQ

Is A Technician Included In My Rental?

Your rental includes the services of one theatre technician for up to 8 hours, as outlined in your agreement, at no additional cost.

If you require a second technician or additional hours beyond what is included, extra charges will apply.

Do I need to bring my own box office and front of house staff?

We offer ticketing services for your event, including a staff member to manage the box office on your behalf.

If you choose to handle ticket sales independently, you are responsible for managing your own box office and ticketing operations.

Regardless of your ticketing choice, we provide front-of-house support, including ushers and staff to manage concessions.

Is there a minimum hour requirement

All bookings must meet the following minimum time requirements:

  • Events (e.g. performances, showcases): Minimum 7 hours, including time for setup and takedown.

  • Non-event uses (e.g. rehearsals, classes, meetings): Minimum 3 hours.

 

Do I need to Clean the theatre, after I am done renting.

You are responsible for leaving the space as you found it. Please remove all items you brought, tidy all areas (including washrooms, dressing rooms, auditorium, and stage), and dispose of garbage and recycling in the appropriate bins.

ARE FOOD AND DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE?

Food is strictly prohibited inside the theatre. There is a snack bar on the premises, operated by us, that serves food and drinks to guests in the lobby.

What About Food And Drinks Backstage?

Yes, food and drinks are allowed backstage, but only in specified areas

Is alcohol allowed?

The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. 

Is Fire Allowed?

The use of pyrotechnics and fire are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. 

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept payment via e-transfer or cheque. 

Do I Need Insurance?

Please provide insurance for your event. Before your rental date, please send us proof of insurance. 

Can I leave any of my belongings at the theatre when I'm not renting?

You must take all your belongings with you and leave the theatre in the condition you found it.

If you have consecutive daily or weekly rentals, you may leave your belongings in the theatre during your rental period. Please note that Crane Creations Theatre Company is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items left on the premises.

How Far In Advance can I book?

The earlier the better. We receive lots of bookings so we recommend that you book well in advance, at least 6 months in advance of your rental.  

What's The Process To Rent?

Check if the dates you would like are available in our calendar.  If your required dates are available, complete a rental request form. Our rental team will respond letting you know if the we are able fulfill to your request.

Can I visit the venue before I book?

Yes, we offer 20 minute tours for free to prospective renters. Book a 20 minute tour here.
