Discover the art, history, and magic of puppetry at the Puppet Festival Mississauga Exhibit. This special exhibition features a curated collection of books from the Ontario Puppetry Association, showcasing puppetry traditions from across Canada and around the world. From ancient civilizations to contemporary stages, visitors can explore how puppetry has been used for storytelling, ritual, protest, and entertainment for thousands of years.
Learn about diverse forms such as shadow puppetry, marionettes, hand puppets, and object theatre, and discover the artists who continue to innovate within this timeless art form.
The exhibit isn’t just for reading — it’s hands-on and interactive for children and families. Young creators can make puppets from everyday household objects and design their own mini puppet theatre to bring stories to life. Whether you’re a theatre lover, educator, or curious family, this exhibit offers a playful and inspiring glimpse into one of the world’s oldest performing arts.
