What Types of Animated Short Films are featured at Puppet Festival Mississauga?
We feature short films that are suitable for all ages and young audiences. Puppet Festival Mississauga is attended by families and parents with young children.
Where will my film be screened?
Your film will be available on demand to audiences online, as well as projected in store windows of independent businesses across Mississauga, during the Festival.
Do you accept international submissions?
Yes! Puppet Festival Mississauga is an International festival! We feature animated films from across Canada and around the world.
How do I submit my film?
Each Year we hold an annual submission call, where you can submit your animated short film. Submissions are accepted on FilmFreeway.
What duration does my film need to be?
Your short film can be anywhere from approximately 30 seconds to 15 minutes long.
When do you accept submissions?
We hold our annual submission a year before the next festival. Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date on when our submission call happens, and check back on our website.
How are short films selected?
Short films are selected by a panel of jurors. Each year a panel of jurors, consisting of a diverse group of animation experts and professionals, as well past Puppet Festival Mississauga attendees evaluate submissions based on given criteria.
When will I know if my film will be featured at Bridges Festival?
We try to notify all applicants as soon as possible. However we cannot always control how early this will be. Typically applicants are notified in the autumn before the Festival
Can I submit more than one film?
Yes. You can submit as many films as you like.
If my film was not selected for the previous Bridges Festival, can I re-apply?
Yes, we always encourage you to re-apply. Due to the high volume of applications received each year, we are not able to feature all submissions. However, not being accepted one year does not guarantee your film will not be selected in following years.
