About The Artist
Mohamed Fawzy Bakkar is a Visual Artist specializing in Puppetry Arts. He designs, builds, directs, and performs with puppets, including his exquisitely crafted marionettes. Alongside his artistic work, he is an accomplished instructor of puppetry at several respected institutions in Egypt.
Since 2021, he has taught at the Higher Institute of Folk Arts at the Academy of Arts, where he lectures in puppet design, construction, and manipulation. He also serves as an Instructor and Puppetry Specialist at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Sadat City University (2020–present), and teaches puppetry at the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University (2018–present).
In addition to his professional teaching roles, Mohamed is completing his Master’s degree in Puppetry and Puppet Manipulation at the Higher Institute of Child Arts, Academy of Arts, specializing in performance techniques. His work blends craftsmanship, performance, and pedagogy, shaping the next generation of puppetry artists across diverse communities.
