Gracious Gomes is an experienced Audio/Visual Technician specializing in audio engineering, mixing, and production. Originally from New Delhi, India, he earned a diploma in audio engineering from SAE Institute in Mumbai and later a degree in South Africa. He has worked with top companies like Bluefrog in India and Carnival Cruise Lines in Miami. Gracious moved to Canada in 2023, where he continues to apply his skills in sound design and technical support.
Gracious Gomes is an experienced Audio/Visual Technician with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment industry, skilled in Technical Support, Audio Engineering, Audio Mixing, Audio Production, and composing and music arranging in both studio and live applications. A strong media and communication professional, he graduated from St. Xavier School – Delhi and holds a degree in Audio Engineering from SAE South Africa. Originally from New Delhi, India, Gracious grew up around music, embraced it from an early age, and became a musician before getting heavily involved in sound engineering. After high school, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a diploma in audio engineering from SAE Institute, starting his career as an Assistant Audio Engineer at “Bluefrog,” a prestigious performance venue known for its state-of-the-art acoustics and top-tier customer service. A few years later, he moved to South Africa to pursue a degree in Audio Engineering, then landed a position as an Audio Technician at Carnival Cruise Lines in Miami, Florida, where he worked for several years. After 2020, Gracious decided to move to Canada, which materialized in April 2023, and he now resides in Applewood Hills, Mississauga.
Gracious got involved with Audio Industry due to his liking in various musical instruments and wanted to replicate the perfect tones on my main instrument which is the guitar. He usually plays a fusion of western and Indian scales and developed a unique taste in music which then lead to sound design and sound mixing on various platforms and worked with various artists around the globe at Bluefrog and studied in depth at SAE Institute (India and South Africa)

He is originally from New Delhi, India (born & raised). He grew up around music and embraced it and became a musician at an early age and got heavily involved in sound engineering thereafter. Moved to Mumbai right after high school to pursue diploma in audio engineering from SAE Institute (various location across the world). Started as Assistant Audio Engineer for a prestigious company called “Bluefrog” which is a performance venue with a state of the art acoustics and equipment along with best customer service.
Few years down the line he moved to South Africa to pursue a Degree in Audio Engineering and thereafter landed a gig in Miami, Florida for a position of Audio Technician at Carnival Cruise Lines which went on for a few years. And then after 2020, he decided to move to Canada which later happened in April 2023 and now residing at Applewood Hills in Mississauga.

Where Are You From Originally?
In Delhi, India, grew up in a big joint family and went to convent school. Grew up with three sisters and a lot of cousins.
You Recently Moved to Mississauga? What is your favourite thing about Mississauga?
It is pretty diverse and well planned city. lot of different options in entertainment and cuisine. Best for raising a family in all of Ontario.
It has lots of greenery. Lot of parks and access to lakes and streams.
Multi-cultural and multi-cuisines attract folks.
Decent performance venues around the city.
Do You Have A Favourite Book?
I really Sidney Sheldon and Harlen Coben type Crime Thriller novels.
I always wanted to be a detective and that comes out whenever I watch a crime or psychological thriller. I choose books accordingly.
I really enjoy reading which involves crime solving and mysteries throughout the novel.
Do You Have Any Hobbies?
My hobbies are reading books, watching thriller series, playing guitar and hiking.
Im most passionate about music and mainly focus on guitar. I listen to lot of fusion music which involves jazz, rock and Indian music.
I also love the Ocean and shallow diving and surfing are my favourites.
I have worked on cruise ships which shows the love for the Open Oceans.
Aquatic animals really excites me.
When I was in South Africa and Mexico, I loved watching whales and dolphins.
Sharks too only if I’m on the shore or on a boat.:)
Other than that I’m a great cook and I can nail almost any cuisine.
I love spending time at the Lake Ontario and I believe in nature healing.
So I spend as much time outside as compared to indoors.
I also produce music and have mobile gear so I can record and mix anywhere I want.
Creativity can spark anywhere in the world.
I also enjoy swimming in general but I always try to be a better swimmer, so I always utilize the pool in my building.
I always go out with my family to museums, aquariums, zoo and parks etc.
Do You Have A Favourite Food?
I would say the Food and how vast the city is. It is known to be one of the megacities in the world.
Easy and vast network of transport.

1000’s of type of cuisine.
Street Food is a must.

Do You Have A Favourite Food To Make? Can You Tell Us The Recipe?
My go to meal is Spicy beef Curry with fluffy rice.
Get Stewing beef cubes for the curry.
take a big pot and pour oil (Olive and peanut) and put chopped onions along ginger garlic paste
let it cook for a min on high heat then add your beef and satay it for couples of mins
add your spices (RED chilli, meat masala, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder) and cook that mixture until fragrant and spices should be fully cooked
add water if the mixture gets dry.
once it looks cooked add salt and and then water and cover the pot for simmer it for 45 mins
after that add yogurt for thicker consistency and cook it further until oil separates.
then add chopped coriander and ginger Julien.
and then serve with rice.

Is there a skill you have always wanted to learn?
I always wanted to learn music theory in depth
I still have a lot of knowledge audio and music in general.
But just going back to basics and learning music theory in depth really appeals to me
Also try to learn more instruments such as bass and drums
so get better rhythmically.
Other than that I would love to learn scuba diving which is a an extreme sport and also
paragliding is on my radar.
What is somewhere you have always wanted to travel?
visit the amazons
Travel to angel falls.
What is one project you worked on that you are proud of?
Lot of theatre content from various cultures. (Indian, Arab, Latins, Canadian, America, Chinese)
Working with them feels like you are working on an international platform due to diversity.
Different types of work culture with every group.
Do you have any advice for aspiring theatre makers?
Please be decisive
never be indecisive
That’s it.
You need to know what u want, just don’t get a job to make money.
Choose your field and choose your passion and stick to it.
money will come
Excellence and experience pay more later
Don’t put both all yours eggs in one basket.
Always pursue a technical course first after high school even if its a diploma
get along with gear specially as it technology changes every year.
Always make time for family and for your self.
Its good to b ambitious and passionate but personal health is important
