Volunteering is one of the best things you can do for yourself and for your community! Many people volunteer to give back to their community, gain experience, try something new, or to get involved in something they’re passionate about.

Manage schedules, provide practical and organizational support during rehearsals, prep the space, make sure Zoom meetings are scheduled properly. Stay on top of contact lists, blocking notes, prop lists and make sure to remind everyone to take a break and to stay hydrated.

Attend all rehearsals (virtually or in person, as required), participate in discussions, arrive on time, prepare required research, respect other team members and staff at Crane Creations, get off book by the set dates, take initiative, respect the rules of the rehearsal space.

Bring a project from an idea to fruition. Use strategic thinking and skills such as budgeting, scheduling, human resources, marketing, promotion and sales. Master spreadsheets, multitasking, resource allocation and decision making. Evaluate the project’s viability before it starts and its success when it concludes.

Bridges Festival is a festival of Puppetry and Animation. The festival takes place all over the city of Mississauga. There are more than 15 events happening each year: puppet shows, films, workshops, exhibitions and talks. We carefully curate artists from around the world and across Canada to bring the best events for children to Mississauga.
Crane Creations acknowledges that the land on which we are grateful to work, and which the city of Mississauga operates on, as being part of the Treaty and Traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, The Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and The Huron-Wendat and Wyandot Nations. We recognize these peoples and their ancestors as peoples who inhabited these lands since time immemorial.
