Celebrating Una Fairclough: Volunteer of the Year 2024
We are delighted to present Una Fairclough with the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2024! This prestigious prize is awarded to an especially hard-working and diligent volunteer who has served Crane Creations Theatre Company for a year or longer. Over the past year, we welcomed 234 volunteers who contributed 1,827 volunteer hours to the theatre. Out of all our volunteers, only one can receive the Volunteer of the Year award.
A Journey of Dedication
Una Fairclough began volunteering with us in May 2023. She quickly demonstrated her talents as a theatre attendant and was named Volunteer of the Month in July 2023. Since then, she has continued to volunteer throughout the year, welcoming over 3,500 audience members to the Maja Prentice Theatre with a warm smile.
I am honoured to accept the Volunteer of the Year award. I love theatre and seeing all the different shows, that play at the theatre. I really enjoy volunteering at the Maja Prentice Theatre as a theatre attendant

Recognition Onstage
This past June 2024, Una Fairclough was presented her award onstage at the Maja Prentice Theatre. The significance of this award is to recognize the special achievements of one volunteer who has gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts consistently throughout the year. In a public ceremony, we celebrate the Volunteer of the Year while also recognizing the support of all our volunteers who have helped us throughout the year. Volunteers of the Year are chosen from a pool of those who have received the Volunteer of the Month award.

As we conclude Crane Creations Theatre Company’s fiscal year, we are thrilled to honor Una with this prestigious award in recognition of her dedicated volunteering and ongoing year-round support.
How Did Una Fairclough Become Volunteer of the Year?
Una Fairclough has volunteered with Crane Creations Theatre Company as a theatre attendant nearly every single month throughout the year. She is a friendly face that our staff, volunteers, and audience are always happy to see. Una always arrives early for her volunteer shifts, dressing professionally and accumulating the most volunteer hours of all our 2024 volunteers. She warmly greets all our guests and brings a welcome presence to the theatre. Her ability to make guests feel welcome and invited into the space is greatly appreciated. By volunteering with us so much, Una has become an expert of the theatre. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and commitment to volunteering with us.
